The second session of the Event hosted by Perfecting Church International South Africa (PCI) at Rhema Church in Randburg on Friday 15th April 2015 was introduced by Janine Price, one of the lead Worship Leaders at Rhema Church.A gospel concert tagged “Gospel Greats” which featured various renowned South African Gospel Artists. It was refreshing to see that PCI was celebrating their own talent who also are recording artists in South Africa and members of the Church.
The session was opened by a series of songs ministered by the PCI Choir as they introduced the Gospel Musical Spectacular. This choir can be easily mistaken for a professional recording choir from the attires to the talent and utter finesse in which they ministered. They left the congregation astonished as many were up on their feet in Praise and down on their knees in Worship.
The first artist to minister was Mahalia Buchanan who happens to be a member of PCI and one of the Worship leaders of the PCI Choir. She has featured as a soloist on various platforms and for the South African Gospel Group Joyous Celebration and as a presenter for the Gospel show ‘Gospel Truth”. She has worked with various artist both local and International including Jonathan Butler and Pastor Donnie McClurkin. Also in September of 2015 she released her debut album “Redeemed to Worship’. She sang some of the songs from her CD and the popular song “Malibongwe’ by popular South African Gospel group “We will Worship”. Her beauty combined with her talent and anointing was a note you cannot miss on the stage
The next artist on stage was the ever gifted Hlengiwe Ntombela from KwaZulu Natal, who has been part of South Africa’s Gospel choir Joyous Celebration where she has performed as a soloist on powerful Worship song with her husky and soulful voice. By the end of her ministration the entire sanctuary was ablaze and people were lost in prayer confirming the tangible presence of the Lord.
Xolani Mdlalose aka Xolani M, a qualified lawyer and member of Joyous Celebration but also a solo artist. He released an album ‘My Worship” in 2013. The KwaZulu Natal born minister survived by God’s grace a near death experience when he pulled through surgery after suffering a brain aneurysm. He believes that through his music and his experience he is able to minister hope to various people.
The last artist to take to the stage is also a KwaZulu Natal born and bred award winning songstress Ntokozo Mbambo who started singing in Church at a very young age and age 15 joined Joyous Celebration as the youngest person to join the group. She has since become a solo artist and released 3 albums with the latest tittled “Filled”. She has been an opening act for many International Gospel stars including Yolanda Adams, Pastor Donnie McClurkin and Cece Winans on their tours in South Africa. She has also travelled locally and internationally to perform at various functions and Churches including Dr. Bill Winston’s Church. Besides being a minister in her own right she also enjoys training and aspiring musicians. As she ministered, the congregation who had grown to love her and her music sang alongside with her.
The concert was filled with varieties and everyone was blessed.
