PCI Women Ministry Hangout With The Elders

PCISisMin268The Women’s Ministry of Perfecting Church International, Pearls of Worth, on the 30th July 2016 thought it important to visit the old age home in Eldorado Park as part of their multiple programs for the month of July. The gesture which was decided on as a sign of honour and a warm hand of compassion to their Uncles, Aunties, Mothers and Fathers.They started the day by 7AM at the Church Auditorium for a one hour prayer session before setting off for a ride to the Old Age home by 9AM in a convoy.

Upon arrival at the home, it was evident that more of the PCI Women’s Ministry members had gonePCISisMin173 ahead. The women were received by the management of the old age home who with so much excitement had prepared the old people waiting to host the PCI Women. The women, who in their custom started the day with Praise, Worship and Prayers. Pastor Ellis who was the guest speaker and Pastor for the event,  gave a short charge (sermon) as he ministered on the importance of the blood and the body of Christ “The Communion Table”. The half hour message was so impact and the old/elders were served the communion. Breakfast was served and the women assisted in feeding some of the Elders that needed assistance.

PCISisMin136The women also distributed a pre-packaged toiletries gift which includes toothpaste, brush, towel, and soap amongst other things. Finger foods was also part of the menu for the aged. The day did not end until the women had massaged all the elderly Men and Women present at the home. In an interview with the Senior Supervisor of the home, she said they were overwhelmed by the gifts and care from the PCI Women’s Ministry, she also said the amount of activities put together for the elderly was really amazing, and they are very grateful for it. “I wish other organizations would follow such an example by visiting the Home from their heart like they have experience today” she said.

The day was rounded up as the chairman of the elderly people at the home was brought from his room to give a vote of thanks on behalf of the elderly. The leader in charge of the month of July and the program director of the day “Bernie Palmer”, closed the day with a word of appreciation to the women, the elderly and lastly the management of the Home. Pastor Amiena Petersen closed the day with prayer.
